Instructor Revenue and Payout Policy

Last updated: March 09, 2026

This policy describes how revenue generated from courses and events on the Experts platform is calculated, distributed, and paid to instructors.

By publishing and selling courses or events on the platform, instructors agree to the revenue calculation and payout mechanisms described below.

1. Revenue Structure

When a student purchases a course or event, the transaction amount is processed through the platform's payment system. Revenue distribution occurs after applicable taxes and payment processing costs are accounted for.

The platform applies a revenue-sharing model between the instructor and the platform. Unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement, the default revenue distribution is:

  • Instructor share: 70 percent
  • Platform share: 30 percent

The exact revenue share may vary depending on subscription plans, promotional agreements, or platform policies.

2. Revenue Calculation

Revenue distribution is calculated based on the net transaction value after taxes such as value-added tax (VAT) have been deducted.

Payment processing fees charged by payment gateways may also be deducted before the revenue split is applied.

The resulting distributable revenue is then divided according to the applicable revenue share between the instructor and the platform.

3. Affiliate Commissions

If a purchase occurs through an affiliate referral, an affiliate commission may apply to the transaction.

Affiliate commissions are funded from the instructor's revenue share unless otherwise stated in a promotional agreement.

The commission percentage applied to a transaction is determined by two factors:

  • The affiliate's approved commission rate
  • The commission cap configured for the course or event

The actual commission used for the transaction is the lower of the two values.

This ensures that instructors retain control over the maximum commission that can be applied to their courses while maintaining a consistent affiliate system across the platform.

4. Discounts and Promotional Campaigns

Courses and events may be sold using promotional pricing, coupons, or platform marketing campaigns.

When discounts are applied at checkout, the final price paid by the student becomes the transaction value used for revenue calculations.

Depending on the promotion type, discounts may be funded by the platform, the instructor, or a combination of both.

5. Refund Impact on Revenue

If a transaction is refunded within the platform's refund policy window, the associated instructor earnings and affiliate commissions will be reversed.

Only transactions that remain valid after the refund period will generate final instructor earnings.

6. Pending Earnings

Earnings from new purchases remain in a pending state during the refund window defined by the platform's Refund Policy.

Once the refund window expires, eligible earnings move from pending status to available balance.

7. Payout Schedule

Instructor payouts are processed according to the platform's payout schedule. The platform may apply minimum payout thresholds and payment verification requirements before releasing funds.

Payout frequency and payment methods may vary depending on the instructor's location, payment provider availability, and regulatory requirements.

8. Tax Compliance

Instructors residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax laws and regulations related to income earned through the platform, including but not limited to obligations imposed by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Instructors residing outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are responsible for complying with all applicable tax obligations in their respective jurisdictions, in accordance with the laws of the country in which they reside or conduct business.

The platform may collect and remit certain taxes where required by law.

9. Changes to Revenue Policies

The platform reserves the right to update or modify revenue sharing, payout schedules, or commission structures as necessary to support the operation and sustainability of the platform.
